Sports Physiotherapy for Recreational and Competitive Athletes

Olympic Athlete PG on AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill

We have been providing Sports Physiotherapy to individuals of all athletic levels since we opened our doors.  From recreational athletes and weekend warriors, to competitive athletes and high level runners. Sports Physiotherapy can be thought of as a sub-specialization of traditional Orthopedic Physiotherapy, one that focuses on the unique injuries of athletes, and their sport-specific recovery and injury prevention needs.

We understand what recreational and competitive athletes want:

  1. They want the hands-on-therapy they need.
  2. They want home exercise programming to help them get back to their activity/sport faster.
  3. They want education to help prevent re-injury, and avoid long-term damage (for example see: “Does Running Cause Knee Osteoarthritis? Or protect against it?“)

And they want this without spending a lot of time going to appointments, or spending a lot of money on extra services or support staff.

This is how we do Sports Physiotherapy, and our team has a depth of experience to draw upon. Our team includes orthopedic physiotherapists with advanced manual therapy, running-specific rehab and gait training expertise, and for those who need it, pelvic floor physiotherapists and core strengthening specialists.

We can help with a wide range of sport-related issues, including treating acute injuries, episodic aches and pains, and chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis in runners; from postpartum return-to-activity issues in new moms to high-level athletes who need to ready for their next event. We also offer custom knee braces suitable for both contact and non-contact sports.

Our services may be covered under employee extended health insurance benefits. Our receipts also qualify as a tax deductible medical expense on your tax return.
