
Mayana Clugston
BScKin, PTA Certified Pilates Instructor, Physiotherapist AssistantMayana Clugston originally hails from Cape Breton Island and has been helping people for over 20 years free up restrictions and move forward with ease and vitality. Mayana is a professional and skilled pilates instructor with a warm encouraging nature who meets others where they are, with non judgement and kindness. With an interest in the mind-body connection, Mayana studied Kinesiology and Psychology at the University of New Brunswick, receiving awards as a student Athletic Therapy Trainer and Varsity Cross-country Runner. After years of intense training Mayana was drawn to the mindful fluidity and therapeutic approach of pilates. An experienced personal trainer before becoming Pilates Mat and Equipment Certified through Janet Lemon – Movement for Health. Mayana is currently studying with Art of Motion – FAMO Fascia Movement), Slings Myofascial Training, Contemporary Pilates and Movement Education.
Mayana has a very diverse background in movement, involved for many years in competitive athletics, dance training and performance, as well as extensive rehab experience and training. She enjoys working with clients of all ages and abilities including clients with special needs, neurological conditions, scoliosis, spinal rehab, back pain and postural concerns, injury rehab clients with knee and hip replacements, shoulder injuries, high performance athletes, dancers, seniors, pre and post natal moms and many others.
Mayana is also a skilled and experienced wellness practitioner with advanced training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, as well as her Master level in Traditional Usui Reiki. With her work she hopes to instill in others strength to empower from within and inspire joy of pain free movement and ease in life. Mayana helps clients feel supported in their ability to heal and transform on all levels including improving their strength, stability, mobility, flexibility, posture upliftment and core control. Clients leave feeling rejuvenated and ‘put back together’, ready to take on the many demands of life with a strong, balanced Center.
In her spare time Mayana enjoys spending time in nature, running, dancing, meditating, singing and songwriting, painting, good laughs and great food with family and friends.
