Michiko is a highly engaging and empathetic physiotherapist with over ten years of experience in clinical, research, education, and leadership roles in rehabilitation, health care and fitness.  Michiko became passionate about pelvic health physiotherapy after her own personal experience with pelvic pain. She has since dedicated her continuing education to the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction, and has advanced training in the treatment of pelvic conditions relating to all genders, including pelvic pain, incontinence, coccydynia, pregnancy-related pelvic health disorders, diastasis rectus, and erectile dysfunction.  As a pelvic health physiotherapist, Michiko’s goal is to work in partnership with each patient to craft a personalized care plan that integrates education, manual techniques, and exercise rehabilitation to relieve symptoms related to the pelvis. She strives to provide patient-centered care, combining the patients’ expertise of their own body with her expertise in pelvic health, ultimately helping patients achieve their goals and a better quality of life.

Michiko holds a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy as well as a Master’s of Health Science in Bioethics from the University of Toronto.  She brings with her a great breadth of clinical experience, including having worked as part of the highly regarded Hand Program at Toronto Western Hospital.  Michiko also completed a Certificate in Clinical Leadership from York University and worked as a clinical team lead at Michael Garron Hospital, prior to deciding to pursue her passion for pelvic health physiotherapy full-time.

Outside of the clinic, Michiko is a wife to a loving husband and a proud mother to a four-year-old daughter. She maintains a healthy lifestyle through swimming, Pilates and dance parties in the living room with her daughter!
