Heather is a highly experienced massage therapist who brings over 10 years of experience to the Toronto Physiotherapy team. She is fully certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage, having trained with the International Vodder School of Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT). Her patients benefit from her careful assessment and treatment skills, which also makes her a highly sought clinical skills tutor for students pursuing their own massage therapy studies.
In addition to her training in Swedish Massage, Heather incorporates techniques such as Deep Tissue Release, Trigger Point Therapy, low grade Joint Manipulations, and Muscle Energy techniques. She is a highly empathetic and caring therapist, who is genuinely engaged in helping her patients achieve their rehabilitation and wellness goals. Moreover, Heather loves her work, and this enthusiasm and passion translates into her treatment sessions.
Heather understands the demands that chronic conditions place on a body, and has specialized over the years in chronic pain management, traumatic injuries, and palliative care. She is also experienced in treating acute soft tissue injuries and the needs of an athletic population, and was selected to be an RMT at the 2015 Parapan Am Games in Toronto. When not treating patients or mentoring students, Heather enjoys traveling, is an avid reader, and enjoys being active and all that our great city has to offer!
